About Rookprint

Rookprint reads your whole recent history of online games and tells you, with numbers, which habits cost you the most, then gives you exercises and a plan to fix them.

Why we built it

Game review tools look at one game at a time. A coach looks at your games together and spots the pattern: you lose on time when the game gets long, you never punish a blunder, your favorite opening quietly scores below 40%. Rookprint does that part for the price of a single lesson, from your own public games, and you keep the report.

How it works, honestly

We download your last 200 finished public games through the official public APIs of Lichess or Chess.com. Stockfish, the open-source chess engine (GPL v3), evaluates every position on our server. Our own code measures how much each of your moves changed your winning chances (the same scale Lichess uses), and groups your errors by opening, game phase, clock and pattern. An AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) then reads those numbers and writes the explanations and your 30-day plan. It does not see the boards and does not produce any of the numbers.

The exercises are positions from your own games where you went wrong and a clearly better move existed; each one is checked again with a deeper engine search.

Who we are

Rookprint is run by Rocket IA (AI ROCKET), the sole proprietorship of François Hermand in France. You can write to us at francois@rocket-ia.fr. The legal details are in the legal notice.

What Rookprint does not do

  • Rookprint is not a human coach: the numbers come from the Stockfish engine and the text is written by AI. No person reviews your report.
  • Rookprint does not promise rating points. The plan targets your weaknesses; what you gain depends on your practice and your games.
  • Rookprint only reads finished public games. It never looks at a game in progress and gives no help during a game.
  • Rookprint does not connect to your Lichess or Chess.com account and never asks for a password.
  • Rookprint covers standard chess only: no Chess960 or other variants. Accounts with fewer than 20 finished games cannot be analyzed.
  • Rookprint is not affiliated with Lichess or Chess.com. Their names are used only to say which accounts we can read.
